Uuno, Unski, Urpo, Unelma, Untamo, Elmeri, Ellu... Like they say: beloved child has several names. Uno moved with us as a little 7 week old cutie on warm, sunny day in midsummer 2003. We had been waiting him for almoust 9 months (like in normal pregnancies) and you can imagine it was such a pleasure to get him finally home. Back then we still didn`t know what there was to come... ;)

As a puppy Uno was very brave and very active. He was not afraid of anything and was always sticking his nose everywhere. Already then he never flattered or defered to any dogs - not even big adult males. He also was very independent and didn`t really want to stay on the lap or on close contact to us for long times. He enjoyded being busy by himself. The best side on his character was already as a puppy that you could take him anywhere and he didn`t really care: he was happy where ever he was at the moment. On the boat, on ferry, on swarming croad... The worst side on his character was that he had such a huge amount of energy that he couldn`t help himself for decorating our apartment with a heavy way. The couch, few carpets, walls, the table and several smaller objects got a nice new look when Uno was home alone and started to change his theeth. Fortunately all the destroys stopped immediately when all his theeth had changed. And what a bullhead he was! He really didn`t do anything just to make me happy. He had his own will and I can tell you his will was strong.

Uno started his teenage-macho times when he was about 11 months old. He stopped eating and nothing - I mean really nothing - except nice smells and nice girls interested him. In obedience and searching training we went huge steps backwards because there was nothing I could have motivated him. About first year of his youngster age he was like in some kind of trans - he lived in his own little world and it was very difficult to get any contact to him outside our house. More than one time we also needed to take a long and hard discuss about which one of us would say the last word. Uno examinated very closely and hard his limits. Already as a youngster he was a definite macho guy. In Unos mind there was no room for other males not familiar to him in this world.

When Uno turned two years old his character started to change. Little by little he started to eat and interest about the other world. He started to play more and somehow act like a big puppy again. Also little by little he became more contact willing and I was able to continue working with him again.

Now when he is about to be an adult he is very charming person. Like since puppy times - he is a total clown. He´s very active and likes to play. He loves running more than anything in this world. Uno has a great sense of humor. Life really is never boring with him. His complicated character makes him very challenging to train: in the same time he is very sensitive and on the other hand quite a bull-head. Uno is absolute "thinking type". It seems like he always thinks very deeply and from all possible and impossible ancles how to act and what to do in different situations. My friend always says Uno is a very complicated combination of multi-minded woman and straightly thinking man who lets hormons dominate his mind. But most of all Uno is a wonderful "family" dog. He`s very easy to live with, he likes people and get`s very well along with children. Like me he loves long walks on the woods and laying on the sofa. He`s always ready to action. Going out is the most funniest thing he knows - whether it`s raining, snowing or shining outside.
