closure of show year. Nordic Winner 2009 in Helsinki. Judge for
breed was Mr. Stefan Sinko SL and breed entry was 53. Pelle´s result
in intermediate class was EXC1. In best male class he was picked up
among 6 best males and got reserv CAC.

The
most waited show weekend in Finland: double winner shows in
Helsinki. On saturday it was Winner 2009 show on a row. Judge for
the day was Mr. Svend Lövenkjaer DK and breed entry was 53. Pelle
placed 2nd in intermediate class with EXC.

International show in Turku. Judge for breed was Mrs. Ann Carlström

most happy to tell that Pelles x-ray results came today from Finnish
Kennel Union: hips A/A and elbows 0/0. Also his whole
back and shoulders are totally clear.

Uno,
Pelle and I travalled to Gnesta, Sweden for Pelles mentality test (MH
description for young dogs). The test was organized by Swedish
Ridgeback Organisation and "mentality judge" was Mrs. Ammie Hultin.
Pelle´s test went very nice. It looked like Pelle and was nothing
more or nothing less than he is. According to test leader (descriptioner)
Pelle is very sound and balanced, he recovers very fast and is
gunshot proof. He has a high social competens, he´s very playful and
has a high
curiosity. Everything he did he
did just enough. I just have to mention that test leader started her
feedback with words "I´m in love with this dog..." Well - can´t
judge her, she´s not the only one.

We
spend a nice but rather rainy RR obedience weekend in Lintukoto,
Pyhtältö. Both Uno and Pelle attended even that Uno isn´t the
brightest Future Obedience Hope (as shown). With Pelle we trained
tasks from beginners- and open class but also basics from winner
class tasks. With Uno I mostly got ideas for starting to teach
identified retrieve. Weekend was very useful and it was so nice to
meet RR people again. Thanks all for fun weekend and thanks Saija
for professional training!

RR
World Speciality Show 2009 in Bratislava. RR entry was totally about
200 and 18 in junior males. Judge for males was Mr. Timothy Finney
IR. Pelle again got EXC but got no placement in competition class.
Best Bitch on the show was beautiful Malozi Jazua from Finland. Congrats owner
Saila & breeder Tuija!
And thanks Tuija, Tuuli, Ilse & Kristine for fun companion in shows.

Slovakian Ridgeback Club Show in Bratislava. RR entry was totally
about 200 and 22 in junior males. Judge for males was Mr. Franz
Zimmermann DE. Pelle did excellent job by winning junior class with
Slovakian CAJC and
gained the title Slovakian Club Junior Winner 2009. BISS was
beautiful Finnish bitch Malozi Inyanga, congrats Tuuli & Tuija!

We
did a little holiday trip to World Dog Show 2009, Bratislava. On
Friday in World Winner Show RR entry was 286 of which 27 junior
males. Judge for Pelles class was Mr. Lazslö Erdos, HU. Pelle got
EXC and was picked among 6 best junior males but finally got no
placement.

Uno
and Pelle entered to Finnish Ridgeback Lure Coursing Championship in
Hämeenkyrö. Total entry of RR´s was about 50. This was very first LC
competition for both of the boys. Pelle became 3rd in "Future
Hope" - class (for dogs between 10 and 18 months) out of 18
competitors with huge points (251+267) 518. Uno placed 2nd
in Veteran class with (250+244) 494 points out of 8 veteran dogs.

What
a day! Pelle and I travelled to Tallinn, Estonia to Baltic Winner
show with Nina, Taina, Sunna & dogs. Judge for breed was Mrs.
Ludmila Fintorova, SLO and RR entry was 31 (21+10). Our youngster
did great by winning junior males and title Baltic Junior Winner
-09. Pelle also went Best Of Breed junior. I still can´t
believe that in best male competition Pelle won all the adult males
and went Best Male. Becouse of the show rules, he
couldn´t take the title Baltic Winner so "real title" went to 2nd
best male from champion class who won CACIB. But our final result
JUN EXC1, JUN CAC, BaltJW-09, BOB-junior, BM-1 & BOS. Not bad for a
16 months old teenager.

The
African Patient is starting to feel a bit better. Last night was one
of the worst I have experienced. In some point I was sure that I
won´t have two dogs in the morning. But our brave little Uno is a
fighter and at 5 AM this morning he finally started to calm down and
sleep. Now he´s getting more liquids intravascularly and got one
more opiate trip. Swelling has decreased already a bit. Our living
room has became a hospital. Thank you all for kind words and keeping
the fingers crossed. Thank you vet Noora for excellent and
professional treatment. Now I´m sure the worst is behind. Few

|
Bad
news this time... Uno got biten by viper (the only poisoned snake in
Finland) when we were doing blood tracking today. Our little patient
is still quite ill with his huge muzzle and neck, very tired and
very confused for the opiates (having a real opiate trip, I guess :)
Luckily we were already near to our car and only 10 minutes from
veterinary. Now we´ll continue liquefying to get the poison out of
his body and just wait our special boy to get better. He will -
won´t he?

Today we attended to RR Speciality in Heinola. Breed judge was Mr.
Veli-Pekka Kumpumäki, FI and ridgeback entry 26. Our little Pelle
did great by placing 3rd in best male competition among champion
males. Final result JUN EXC1, BM-3, CAC. Thank you Päivi
Sormunen for handling Pelle so professionally. You did great!
Thanks
for Pinja and Nina for great company on saturday evening in
Heinäsaari camping - you did great too. Huge congrats to Nina and
little Vilho for BIS-2 placement in best in show puppy ring.

We´re back from our holiday trip from Gotland. Borta bra men hemma
bästa or how Swedish people say!
On saturday 11th we visited Pelle´s breeder Libban in Värmdö and got
a chance to meet Pelle´s dam Bisquit and sister Blaze. Bisquit was 62-63th day on her pregnancy with huge belly so we´re
anxiously waiting a puppy news from Sweden. Thanks Libban for
hospitality again and thanks Lisa & Zmilla for nice companion.

Day
2nd in Visby, Gotland. International show and RR entry was 20. Judge
for the day Mr. Leif Herman Willberg, NO. Pelle started a show day
with very nice critique and result JUN1/1 with HP. Judge liked him a
lot but found him still developing. Uno placed 3rd in champion class
and also Best Male class so final result CH1/3, BM-3. Only 4 CQ´s
was given (all in champion class) for males totally so not bad for
team U & P.

|
Visby National show in Sweden. Ridgeback entry was 18 and judge Mrs.
Kenis Dagmar Pordham, GB. As this was our holiday trip we got both
our dogs with us. Pelle entered to junior class and got a very nice
result JUN1/1, CQ, BM-3 and CAC. Uno beated his little
brother with style in BM competition as his excellent result in
tough champion class was CH1/2, CQ, BM-2.
Pelle had little difficulties to behave when bro Uno was running
first behind and later after him in Best Male class. Judges comment
after the ring was "You have a very promising male but he seems to
be a bit hard to handle..." Thanks a lot for Sanna (Kennel
Sugerin, Bichon Frise) for professional handling
of Uno in Best Male competition. You SO won us...

International show in our home town Kotka. Only Pelle entered, Uno
stayed home. RR entry was 11 and judge for the day Mrs. Annukka
Paloheimo, FI. No success today, the judge found Pelle promising but
still very light in overall. Result was VG-3.

|
Monttumestaruus 2009 by RR club of Finland in Vihti. Both Uno and
Pelle took part, Pelle for the first time after a lure. Both boys
ran nicely after lure, but times were not even close the fastest of
the day. Summa summarum: a nice day with wonderful dogs and nice
people. Thanks for company you all!

|
Pelle, me and Ansku spend a nice sunny day in Hamina national - almoust our home show (only 25 km from us). RR entry was only 4
(2+2) and judge for show Mrs. Hassi Assenmacher Feyel. Pelle got the
only EXC in RR´s so was automaticly selected as Best Of Breed.
No placement in BIG ring. Thanks Ansku for funny but tired day and
thanks Pelle for being so easy going.

International Show in Lahti. Mr. Juha Putkonen FI judged RR`s and
breed entry was 17. Pelle´s result was JUN G. The judge found very
few good things in Pelle so the day surely wasn´t ours. BOB was
Pelles step sister Malozi Kiwara on her first official show.

First track of the year (actually first for Uno, second for Pelle).
Both boys did an excellent job. Even Pelle who was a little
bit lost when tracking last weekend in Brevik was absolutely
fantastic. Let´s hope the engine is still there next weekend in RR
tracking weekend.

Pelle, Esa and I travelled to Sweden to meet Pelle´s family. We
spend the most lovely day in Brevik with all the other Bright -
puppies. Well... they´re all not so puppies any more).

Pelle turns 1 year today! Congratulations to our little gangster!
Can´t believe it´s already a year when I got the most wonderful SMS
from Sweden "Puppies born, two boys, three girls, all okay". Thanks
Libban for this wonderful dog!

Pelle took part to his very first official show today in
Lappeenranta Int. Judge for the day was Mrs. Agnes Ganami Kertes,
Israel and RR entry was 14. Pelle won the junior class with EXC,
placed BM-3 after two champion males and gained CAC.

Pelle and I spend a valentines day at
Ninas place in
Tervalampi. Also
Taina joined us with Aki so we had a house full of
RR boys (Pelle, Eddie, Aki and cute little Vilho). Boys had a lot of
fun together. Thank you Nina for hospitality and a great companion!

At 6
AM in the morning me, Ansku, Pelle and Tellu headed to Turku
International Show. After 3 hours driving we were there just to
notice that little Pelle was limping... So our show was done for the
day.
BUT otherwise the trip was wonderful. A good training to Pelle who
BTW was very cool and calm and behaved like an angel.
In JRT ring Tellu performed excellently and placed BB-2 with CAC
among 71 jackrussells under judge Tamas Jakkel, HUN. Tellu also
became FI CH! Congrats Ansku again!

Pelle and us spend a nice day at RR meeting in Lahti. Uno was at
home guarding a house and taking a vacation from Pelle. Agenda for
the day was having fun, playing with other RR`s, talking with RR
people and training a little bit show behaviour and obedience.
